THE EVOLUTION OF METAL DISC HOT CUT-OFF SAW MACHINES
The metallic disc has a diameter of 1800 mm, it is mounted with a single nut to allow a quick change, it rotates with a peripheral speed up to 100 m/s.
The evolution of the machine and of the control of working parameters, and the enhancement of the cutting technology have permitted us to extend the life of the disc blades between successive re-sharpening operations more than tenfold: from dozens to several hundred cuts.
Furthermore, the forward speed has more than doubled, halving the time to cut the layer into bars of commercial length, which benefits the productivity.
This specific unit performs the hot cut of layers with up to four large bars: squares with side 150, 180, 220 mm and rounds with diameter up to 300 mm at a temperature in the range 900-950 °C with a productivity of 200 ton/hour. Several quality steel grades for the automotive industry are processed.
Our types of sawing machines can be fitted with abrasive or metal discs, or be the combined-type. Available in a wide range of sizes with disc diameters from 800 to 2400 mm, they have either pendular or transverse cutting movement. They can be installed on a ground basement or on a gantry frame, with or without longitudinal movement to accomodate the different bar commercial lengths.
