POMINI Long Rolling Mills supplies a new system for bloom handling to Acciaierie Venete

Acciaierie Venete awarded to POMINI Long Rolling Mills a contract for the supply of a new system for handling round blooms in the reheating furnace area of the rolling mill located in Camin (Padua, Italy). The project is part of the customer's program for the continuous improvement of the rolling mill operation. The project involves the area of the existing roller conveyor for loading blooms into the reheating furnace, which in turn serves the reversible roughing group previously supplied by POMINI Long Rolling Mills. The blooms have a variable diameter between 350 and 600 mm and a minimum/maximum length of 4.2 and 7.5 m.

The supply consists of a bloom lifting system, a horizontal walking beam for transfering the blooms, a tilting device in the vertical plane for easing the collection and deposit of blooms by the forklift.

POMINI Long Rolling Mills will also provide integration equipment for the electrical and automation part, other engineering services, advisory services for the installation and start-up.

Start-up is expected during the second half of 2025.
