Medium section mill to the United Arab Emirates
POMINI Long Rolling Mills has been contracted by Al Jazeera Steel Products Co. SAOG for the design and supply of a new rolling mill for medium sections which will be installed in Kezad in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. It will be the first rolling mill in the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) area capable, in a second phase, of producing rails.
The new mill will process billets and blooms in low- to medium-carbon steel. It will be capable to produce yearly 450,000 metric tons of beams, The rolling mill will be designed to allow the future production of premium rails in accordance to the more stringent requirements of the international norms, including head hardened rails. The investment fits in the product and geographical expansion strategy of Al Jazeera Steel, which will significantly enhance its offer to the construction, oil & gas and infrastructure sectors.
